It's another card game Story

So this week while I was waiting for my computer to perform a super long check up, I was extremely bored.
I already ate multiple times so I needed to play something or else I would be inducing myself to sleep.

Well all I have is a deck of poker cards, so I had to make some kinda rule for it to make it seem entertaining. (yes I was playing by myself.) I would be out and about shopping if the computer could scan without asking for my prompt). I am an engineering, so creating new games should be easy for me.

Let's see how this goes.
You have 14 health points, one for each card in the deck and every single card is special. Well I'm still making it up as I go along to make the game not seem one sided once you start losing.

In the deck there is the whole deck of 55 cards or 52+ however many jokers you can get.
Average play time should be about 10-15 minutes per game.

The rule of the game is you and your opponent place cards on an imaginary battlefield and whichever is stronger stay on the field and the weaker will be tossed away. You both play with the same deck to try for fairness. (I would imagine this being more fun if you can have 4 players, but then you might need 2 decks.

You can only hit your opponent with a single/combo of units (for a point) when they do not have anything on the field anymore. Cards can stack with each other thus the combo cards. When you or your opponent run out of points so on and so on happens, you know the usual. Oh yes, for every point you lose, you draw a card out of the pool of cards.

The first turn is called the roulette or le roulette if my french is correct ;]
This turn you and your opponent start by placing a single card face down. Once you have selected your cards, you can both turn them up. During this phase it might be advisable to pick a stronger card to gain control of the field so your opponent has to play catch up. If you both have cards 10 or higher ( J,Q,K) then nothing happens, they stay on the field until you have something else that can destroy them.

After the 1st turn you can start attacking each other.

If you place two cards, you are basically provoking a fight. You can only place cards that are pairs, next higher like (9,10) (7,8) and so on, so that you do not throw in random cards. The opponent however does not have to follow suite and can stay with a single card if he does not want to fight yet.

-Single cards can only attack single cards, double can attack double, triple can attack anything under it, quadruple can attack two times, and quintuple can attack anything only once.
Quintiples although easier to pull then triple gain their attack only by the cumulative amount of all the cards combined. You can do a flush or snake for quintuple your choice.
Final note, it would be pointless to use a 10 to attack another 10 as it is a stalemate.

Upgrade, if you have a a queen, as the top card in your composition, you can upgrade it by placing a queen or king but not jack to promote it to level 3.

You can have a maximum of 5 unit compositions on the field at the same time. You can place cards face down to keep people in suspense.

Let's start with the single cards
-Ace cards are called the god killers, they can take out Jack, Queen, Kings but get taken out by anything lower than that.
-2 is the equivalent of the god killer except it gets destroyed after the turn. Like it's number states, 2 can attack doubles and kill them off or get attacked and take both cards to the graveyard. It might be a good idea to use them wisely for those game changing moments for example, 2s would be wasted if they are attacked by 3-8s.
-3 4 5 & 6 are the mannequins. They cannot be killed of by cards higher than them and cannot be attacked by cards that are doubles. Pretty good deal right?
-7 8 & 9 are like rooks in your game. They're you average set of cards

-10, J Q, & K as explained above are usually the bests in your arsenal which can lead you off to a good start.

-joker is a game changer as it lets you take acquisition of your opponents unit, you can take combos as well
the more jokers in the game the better.

Now for the combo cards (I have little patience)

If you have 2 of the same card you can play them both at the same turn as different units (splitting)

-remember doubles can only be made for pairs or numbers that are adjacent to each other, same goes for the cards higher than 10. Ace will only go with kings.

-ace and 2 make a blood lily, this can only attack triples or higher for a one hit KO. yet they are easily out done by a pair of 10 or higher.

-ace and king make a saint and has 21 attack points

-cards higher than pairs cannot be destroyed by a single 2 as that would make it OP. Instead you need 2 2s. Double 2s will be called the snake

- 3,4,5 combo. You have created a garden trolls! by themselves they are weak but together they can attack singles and doubles without being attacked, a 5 5 5 can attack anything 15 or lower.

-6 7 8 & 9 cannot merged with anything except pairs and combos of 5s. They are your basic attacker and are pretty plenty powerful already.

Flushes can attack anything that does not have the same symbol as it for a multiple timing attack a 2 added to a flush does not make it more powerful than it already is.

yup that should be it, too many rules then the game would not be much fun.

Tips on being a good test taker

Well I just got my first final completed and 1 more to go. But I have a little hypothesis I would like to make before I go back to studying.

This will only work if you are learning for the education and not for the grade. Or, at least you'll have a harder time doing this if you only care about your grade. It is like reaching enlightenment. Anyway life is all a big game and tests/ challenges come up everyday.

In order to do well on a test, you must first have a goal of what it is you need to get out of the class more importantly, what the teacher expects you to get out of the class. Second, you must find a loophole somewhere in your book of knowledge (book/note) that can give you the upperhand compared to other classmates. An upper hand is something that would make you feel like you are the only one who thought of this loophole, (probably you and 30%) There is a huge difference between stuffing random equations on to your cheat sheet and actually knowing how to manipulate those equations into another useful form.

Anyway I digress, if you have something up your sleeves by the time you take the test, such as, key terms already aimed to put on your essay, loopholes, manipulating equations, and such and such, by the time you take the test, it makes you feel really happy that you can answer it without a doubt that you did it correctly. Gotta get back to my studies.

I'll admit

I have a problem which will take the rest of my life to reflect on. I just read an interesting text from the desiderata. You can find it in wikipedia. What I interpreted in there is that you should be happy with yourself without trying to start a competition with someone out of your own convenience.

my mind is a blank now, I'll continue this later if i remember

oh look, it's raining!

Just Another Day

I've managed to convince 1 person of the nutritional benefits of Gelato over store bought Ice-Cream. Although, it would sound really significant if I were to put it into a resume I doubt people would care -_-.

Anyway, it's another fun filled weekend with nothing much going on. I wish I had used this time to shop instead of dallying around in the house all day. But I did do a bit of cooking

I just whipped up a $10 bowl of lasagna, putting everything I had in my fridge (Almost everything). There is such a huge difference in taste between using ground beef, and Italian sausage when making lasagna. To all those spinach haters, I do not really understand why you would not put spinach in lasagna. Where will it get all it's greens from besides being stupidly meaty and cheesy?

I also did not want to waste heat, so I baked brownie loafs as well. If you look at the crack, does it not remind you of sweet potato? I wonder what would happen if you mixed in a legume like that into the cake. Certainly it would be a lot starchier than if I left it alone, but would it not be a good combo? Sweet Potato with Chocolate. I did add cinnamon this time, but I should try it if I happen to have these those ingredients in my pantry

Edit:

Holy Cow, I kept eating and eating and eating and I never felt full at all. I only feel satisfied like 3 hours after I finished eating my meal. Something is wrong with my stomach?

ahh The Nerve of him!

I've never thought someone could be so stubborn to not take care of his body and blame me when he's sick. The people who say they never get sick because they have full immunity? That is a lie. People who seem to never get sick will be in a worse state than people who normally feel under the weather in the case that sickness prevails.

So what happened? My housemate somehow got viral bronchitis and since we use the same kitchen, he infected me with his germs and bacteria. So for most of the day my brain felt like it was traveling through turbulence, my butt hurts when i sit down for more than 30 minutes and I am sleepy? It's been almost two years since I've took a nap because my body went through meltdown. But enough with that.

I made somewhat a 80% recovery from today's state.
In times of sickness even if you do not feel like eating, the important thing is to never skip a meal. Do not force your body to reject food because you feel like you are unhappy when you are sick. You must eat like your life depends on it! First pick your favorite food that is easy to digest to get your stomach warmed up (I chose bananas) As soon as you have the appetite to eat, scarf easily digestible food down until you are satisfied. (I had cottage cheese, bread, and tomato soup) I've never tried tomato soup before but I have heard others say it's good for when you are sick *It's not bad, but I would have prepared cream of mushroom* But I do know cottage cheese is packed with protein and is low in fat, and being the cheese lover I am, I had great helping till I am satiated.

Now I am gleaming in energy to write angry blogs. So yes, make sure you find some way to stuff protein, iron, potassium and grain in your body when you are sick.

Btw, I do not like Bananas. I'm just reading over my post right now.
You see, when people get sick, they say stuff they do not actually mean. I mean I was half sick and half asleep while I was typing that. This would not go very well if I ever held office. No sir. But, it is not that I do not like the shape bananas are (that would be ... profiling). I just simply do not like the somewhat damp/soggy/mildly sweet taste they have. But heck, I like Banana Leaves, and Flambe! Banana Bread? Half the time people make me banana bread I wonder to myself what I am suppose to say. Point of truth, bananas are not my favorite food.

New Wave Pastries

Today I had the sweetest thought on my mind yet google search provided no luck. Why have people not thought of making a honey-filled bread before? Surely you cannot just put pure honey inside as it would just destroy the pastries while it's baking and the filling would ooze out everywhere. I suspect raw honey would also behave the same once it is heated up.

Something so delicious is a problem if it has not been ventured before. There must be someway to change the thermal and material properties of the honey such that the bread can bake nicely and the honey does not just drip out of the bread when eaten.

This will have to be put on hold till I can design a simple and fun solution to satisfy my hunger pleas.

My Perfect Curry

At last I found out what it needed for it to be absolutely filling. Sweets!

This was the best test ever. I forgot to mention that I am only an avid spicy food eater, yet the curry I made last week was probably 3/5 in spicy levels when it was cold. In my opinion, cold spicy food is suppose to drop half to 1 level from when it is hot because it does not taste as spicy for some reason. Yet The first time I tried it my tongue was somewhat heating up so I decided to not put as much in my lunch. (for the record, raw jalapeno would just put my tongue on fire for a few minutes).

Look how much of a wimp I am, the curry is in the middle

For me to find the right condiments to take the spiciness off of the curry and make it taste delicious when it is cold makes me relieved and happy at the same time.
What I made was a Macanese style chicken curry that my mother passed down to me.  As for the sweet, I had dried raisins, sweet pickled daikon, gluten pouches which you can find in any oriental market (they are sweet), tamagoyaki (Japanese egg rolls), and vinegar seasoned rice.
For the seasoning I had Aoi-nori (seaweed flakes), and sweet soy sauce. These are usually the material you would find on an okonomiyaki. (you can google that :])
The separate dishes, some of which I cooked in the weekend takes about an hour or so, but the set up only takes like 15 mins for three boxes. (I pack lunches in boxes of three for three days.)
Yea this time I'm not afraid of putting more, since my first lunch was just delicious!

I am not a candy lover, but the sweetness of each sides and the curry mixed with the rice makes this a mouth-drooler. Which reminds me, I had to do something earlier today and bit the chopsticks in my mouth to hold off on eating. Few seconds later, my drool traveled across my chopstick and landed on my elbow, then I was like O.O.

Oh Yes, usually I would break out with sweat/stress as I eat spicy food, but I was okay.

I'll share this recipe if I have time.
